This was way more serious than my first.Last night, as I painfully slipped into bed, I praised God that I could laugh about the following event.
My cousin and I have been spending a lot of time together, which has been so great! One thing we love to do is find back-road bike trails and ride them a couple of weekends out of the month. We'd probably gone about ten miles, me trailing close behind her, when all of the sudden, her bike slipped off the road and into the curb. Since we were on a slight downgrade, we were going faster than normal, and I wasn't even pedaling, just enjoying an easy coast.
In an instant she was on the ground, and me and my bike literally ran over her. I don't remember how I landed, all I can recall is looking up and seeing a car hit its breaks, Morgan (adrenaline must've been pumping through her like crazy) jumping up and getting safely to the curb, and me doing the same.
Once I regained composure, I looked over to see if Morgan was okay. She wasn't. We called her husband, Dave, who is a police officer and he got there super fast. It took him about five seconds to decide she'd had a concussion and needed to go the hospital. So they took me home and they went on they're way.
Morgan is fine and so am I, thanks to the protecting hand of God. I praise Him alone for keeping us safe. Yes we are sore, and a bit banged up, but all things considered, it's not too bad. God prevented broken bones, and any other serious head trauma, He kept moving cars away from us and got us safely to the curb. He brought Dave to the rescue and got Morgan to the clinic lightning fast.
It was the scariest, most exhilarating experience of my life to date... and a pretty good conversation starter! haha

My grandmother turned 72 yesterday and we celebrated her birthday in an intimate family gathering. She has been such an important figure throughout my entire entire life, but I can't help realize how little I know about her. She's poured out so much love over me and yet this wonderful woman is a mystery to me.
